Acton Gardens is a landscaping company located in Gauteng, South Africa. Acton Gardens is comprised of people who share a love for exterior design and nature’s beauty. After a decade together, Acton Gardens has enriched many homes and businesses by creating outdoor spaces which not only compliment the architecture but also create a natural escape to enjoy and relax.
Acton Gardens, like many other landscaping companies, have employees working at various remote locations on a daily basis. Specialising in commercial and residential landscaping meant that certain employees would go to the same location every day and other would be scattered across the city to different locations.
The team would take transport to Acton Gardens office in the mornings to clock themselves into work using paper timesheets. This would take valuable time out of the teams day, and cost the business money in the additional transport spend to take the team to their various locations.
Some teams would go to the site directly and use paper timesheets to clock in and out of work. These paper timesheets would often get lost, be eligible and have inaccurate time clock data.
Paper timesheets were inaccurate and eligible, leading to a large amount of time spent on payroll administration every week.
The landscape team had to keep timesheet in the bakkie. Foreman would fill it in. But we would drive the sheets to them once a month. We had to physically take copies to them once a month. We save on those costs of petrol and printing now.

Having a live digital view of the teams as they arrive on site has huge benefits to us. Our team members can now arrive on site, clock in using the team leaders phone and we can immediately confirm the location and arrival of our team from the office.
We now save money on petrol, time and paperwork. The benefits have been massive for our teams motivation and ability to travel less, by going straight to site and bypassing the office.
